Check three things, in this order. Notifications — Settings → Notifications → DoseNext, with Allow Notifications on and a style that is actually visible. Focus and Do Not Disturb — DoseNext’s reminders are not Time Sensitive, so a Focus mode will hold them back. Low Power Mode, which delays background work generally. Also worth knowing: iOS allows only 64 pending notifications per app, so on a very busy schedule DoseNext queues the soonest ones and refills the window as you use the app. Settings shows how many are scheduled and how many are waiting for a slot.

Up to three per dose — a minute before, at the scheduled time, and once after while it is still unconfirmed. Then it stops: nothing is sent after the last one, and the dose simply stays visibly overdue in the app. The one-minute warning can be turned off in Settings if it is one buzz too many; the other two are always sent.

Nothing is lost. An unconfirmed dose stays the thing to do for an hour, then moves to a Missed today list — still visible and still actionable, but out of the way of the dose due this evening. Missed doses are never auto-completed and never disappear. Tap the row to take, skip or undo it.

Yes, four ways: from the notification itself, from the Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, from the Lock Screen Live Activity, and from Apple Watch. All of them write the same record the app writes, so none of them can disagree with your history.

Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen until the icons wiggle, tap the + at the top, search for DoseNext and pick a size. Small says what is next and when, medium adds the two or three after it, large shows the whole day. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customise, and add DoseNext to a widget slot.

Make them two courses. DoseNext is built around treatment courses rather than single reminders, so an open-ended blood pressure tablet and a ten-day course of antibiotics both run and are merged into one chronological day on the Today screen. Leave the end date off to make a course open-ended.

Counting is off unless you ask for it. Turn it on for a medication, enter how many units are left, and pick a threshold — so many doses remaining, or so many days. Confirming a dose takes units out of the packet, skipping one does not, and undoing puts them back. The notice appears on the Today screen below the missed list, so it never pushes the dose due now off the screen.

History → the report, then pick a period — last 7, 30 or 90 days, or your own range — and Create PDF. It lists your medications as prescribed, how much of the schedule was followed, and every dose that came due with the time you actually confirmed it. The share sheet then offers Save to Files, Print or Mail. It is a transcript of what was confirmed in the app rather than a measurement, and it says so on every page.

Yes, through your own iCloud — there is no DoseNext account. Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices and leave sync on in Settings. Turning sync on or off takes effect at the next launch, because whether the store mirrors is decided when it is opened. A device with no iCloud account works exactly as before, offline.

The watch holds no schedule of its own — the phone sends it the next dose. Keep both nearby with Bluetooth on, open DoseNext on the phone once, and the watch will catch up. A Taken tapped on the watch is queued rather than sent live, so it survives the phone being asleep or in another room and arrives when the two are next in touch. It is never silently lost.

Yes, but it is off until you ask for it: a medication name on a Lock Screen is legible to whoever picks the phone up, so that is your decision to make. Turn it on in Settings and, from half an hour before a dose, it can take over the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island with a Taken button. One limit worth knowing: iOS only lets an app start one of these while it is open, so it begins when you have DoseNext open in that half hour or when you tap a reminder — not on its own.

Yes — Settings → Language, and it applies immediately without a relaunch. DoseNext ships fourteen: English, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified) and Korean, right-to-left included. Your medication and course names are your own words and are never translated.

No. Each record keeps a snapshot of how the dose read at the time it was confirmed, so retiming a dose next week never rewrites what you took last week. Editing a course takes effect from now onward.

Yes. Completed courses move to History with their adherence, and Restart course copies the plan under new dates while leaving the original record untouched.

It never leaves your device. No medication name, dosage, note, photograph or time of day is sent to me or to anyone else. Usage analytics exist but are off unless you switch them on, and even then they carry only counts and fixed event names — never anything about your treatment. See the privacy policy.

No. It helps you follow a schedule you, a carer or a healthcare professional configured, and it never adjusts a dose, a time or a course length on its own. It does not check for interactions or allergies — it reminds you to take what you entered, as you entered it. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before changing anything, and use your local emergency service, not this app, in an emergency.
