DoseNext Terms of Use

01The agreement

DoseNext is developed and published by Andrii Kolisnyk, an independent developer based in Ukraine. By downloading, installing or using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app.

How your information is handled — and in particular why your medication data never leaves your device — is covered separately, in the DoseNext Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are setting DoseNext up for someone else — a parent, a relative you care for — you are accepting these terms on your own behalf and are responsible for what you enter.

02DoseNext is not medical advice

DoseNext is a reminder and record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, it is not a healthcare provider, and nothing in it is medical advice.

• It helps you follow a schedule that you, a carer, or a healthcare professional configured. It never adjusts a dose, a time or a course length on its own, and nothing in it suggests that you should.
• It does not check for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, duplicate therapy or the suitability of anything you enter. It will remind you to take whatever you typed in, exactly as you typed it.
• What it shows is only as correct as what you entered. Check a new course against your prescription or the packaging before you rely on it.
• It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for professional judgement.

The adherence figures and the doctor’s report are a transcript of what was confirmed in the app, not a measurement of what was swallowed. The report says so on every page. A clinician reading it should treat it as the patient’s own record, which is what it is.

03Reminders are best effort

DoseNext schedules local notifications through iOS. iOS decides whether and when they are shown, and several ordinary things can delay or suppress one:

• Focus modes and Do Not Disturb — DoseNext’s reminders are not Time Sensitive, so they respect them.
• Low Power Mode, a device that is off, out of battery, or restarting.
• Notification permission being denied or withdrawn, or the app being restricted by Screen Time.
• iOS allows only 64 pending notifications per app, so on a very busy schedule reminders more than a couple of days out are queued as you use the app rather than all at once.

Do not rely on DoseNext as the only thing standing between you and a missed dose of a critical medication. It is a reminder, not an alarm system, and it is not a life-safety product. Where a dose genuinely must not be missed, keep a second arrangement.

04Your licence

Andrii Kolisnyk grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use DoseNext on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service. The licence is granted — DoseNext is licensed to you, not sold.

• You may not redistribute, rent, lease, lend, sell or sublicense the app.
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
• You may not remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice.
• You may not use it to provide a medication-management service to other people as a business without my written agreement.

05Free, and Premium

DoseNext is free to download, and free for the whole of what it is for. The schedule, the reminders, confirming a dose, resolving a missed one and the recorded history all work the same whether Premium is on, off, or has lapsed. That is a design commitment, not a launch promotion: an app that puts a paywall in front of somebody trying to record a tablet has failed at its job.

Premium adds iCloud sync, the adherence dashboard, refill tracking, the doctor’s report, and the watch and widget extras. It is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices, periods and any free trial are shown in the app and on the App Store, in the currency of your own storefront, before you agree to anything.

Nothing is deleted when Premium lapses. A refill count stops being displayed; it is not thrown away. Your history stays yours, in full, and turning Premium back on shows it again.

06Subscriptions, and how to cancel

Everything you buy in DoseNext is billed by Apple, not by me. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

• A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
• Cancel in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then DoseNext, then Cancel Subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal; the period you have already paid for runs to its end. Apple does not refund an unused part of a period.
• A free trial, where one is offered, converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited if you buy the subscription during it.
• A lifetime purchase is a one-off, non-consumable purchase with nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
• Refunds are Apple’s to give, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Email me first if something went wrong and I will help where I can.

Prices may change. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and Apple notifies you and asks you to agree before charging a higher price for a renewal.

07Your data is yours

The courses, medications, notes, photographs and intake history you enter remain yours. I claim no ownership of them and no licence to use them. I could not use them in any case: they stay on your device and in your own iCloud, and I have no access to either.

That cuts both ways, and it is worth being plain about: because I hold no copy, I cannot recover anything for you. If you delete a course, lose the device, or turn sync off and then wipe the phone, that data is gone and there is no backup of mine to restore it from. Keeping a device backup is your side of this arrangement.

The app itself — its name, icon, design, code, artwork and the layout of the doctor’s report — is mine or my licensors’, and protected by copyright and trade mark law.

08iCloud sync

Sync mirrors your store to your own private iCloud database. It needs an iCloud account on the device and enough space in it; DoseNext cannot sync without either, and says so rather than failing quietly. Sync is subject to Apple’s own terms and availability, and can be delayed by a slow or absent network.

Turning sync off leaves DoseNext working exactly as before, on a purely local store. The change takes effect at the next launch, because whether a store mirrors is decided when it is opened.

09Using the app responsibly

You agree not to use DoseNext for any unlawful purpose, not to attempt to interfere with it or gain unauthorised access to it or to any service behind it, and not to use it to manage medication for another person without their knowledge or a lawful basis for doing so.

10Changes to the app

DoseNext is actively developed. Features may be added, changed or removed, and support for older versions of iOS ends as Apple’s own support does. I may also stop distributing the app. Where a change would remove something you paid for, I will say so in the release notes.

11Limitation of liability

DoseNext is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a reminder will always be delivered, or that it is suitable for managing any particular treatment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for any loss of data, or for any harm arising from a dose taken, missed, doubled or delayed while using the app, and I am not responsible for third-party services such as the App Store or iCloud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above; where that is the case they apply only so far as permitted, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

12Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by deleting DoseNext from your devices. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription — cancel that with Apple first. The sections on ownership, medical disclaimers, liability and governing law survive termination.

13Apple’s licence and Apple’s role

DoseNext is licensed, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement — the standard agreement that applies to every app distributed through the App Store. It governs the licence itself: which devices you may install on, Family Sharing, and what you may not do with the app. These Terms sit on top of it and cover everything else.

Where the two ever conflict on a question of licence scope, Apple’s agreement wins.

This agreement is between you and Andrii Kolisnyk only, not with Apple. Apple does not sponsor or endorse DoseNext, and is not responsible for it or for its contents. Andrii Kolisnyk, not Apple, is responsible for support, for any warranty that applies, and for addressing any claim about the app — including product liability, regulatory-compliance and consumer-protection claims.

You must also comply with any third-party terms that apply while using DoseNext — your carrier’s data agreement, and the terms of any service the app connects to.

14Modifications to these Terms

These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top of this page is always the date of the current version, and material changes will be announced in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using it and delete it.

15Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of Ukraine, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ukraine. For users in the EU: nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer under EU law, including your right to bring proceedings in your own country.

If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
