Magical

This application is simply magical for people who want to read tough literature at their own understanding of classic english 🙌🏻 . So much to explore within variety of genres and authors.

How the app is going so far.

Just from starting the app it asks for your reading level, what’s kinds of books to you like, and even shows some books to see which ones are you favorite or what your most interested in. I give this app a 5 stars and after 5 weeks of me using this app more my reviews is get better and better.

Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect but Magibook is kind of blowing my mind. I’ve always wanted to read classics like The Count of Monte Cristo and Frankenstein but every time I tried, I’d give up halfway — the language just felt too dense or old-fashioned. With this app though, I can actually follow along. I started with the “beginner” level and then bumped it up as I got more confident. It doesn’t feel dumbed down, it just feels more… readable? Like someone finally made books for people like me who didn’t grow up reading Shakespeare in school. I’ve already finished 3 books this month which is honestly insane for me. I even started reading on the bus instead of scrolling TikTok lol. There are a couple minor things I wish were better — like sometimes I wish it explained certain cultural references more clearly — but overall this is the first reading app that’s actually working for me.

Although I have ADHD, I love to read but sadly due to my inability to focus for a very long time I had given up reading this app is amazing as it allows me to read any book and mostly classic books at my pace without stressing my eyes or feeling distracted, I wish this app would be available to students with learning difficulties as it will help them appreciate reading more.

I was never a big reader until I found this app. I kept buying hard self-development books with hopes that they would help me build discipline, but I quit 3 pages in. I always thought that I was the problem, which diminished my confidence further. I stopped reading for a few years completely until I met my English teacher by accident. She recommended this app that she uses to help students with reading. It really helped!! Turns out my English was not as good as I thought, and those books were just not my level. I'm really thankful for this app as I just finished my first book IN YEARS! Can't recommend it enough!

As a non English speaker, I found this app to be a game changer for improving my language skills! I get to learn practical phrases and if I don’t understand them, I simply reduce the difficulty and learn from context. I also noticed that my vocabulary expanded and I sound much smarter when speaking! Love it!

Reading with dyslexia just got easier

As someone with dyslexia, I've always struggled to get through books. Had a growing collection of titles I wanted to read but never could focus long enough to finish. Magibook has made a real difference with its bionic font option. The way it highlights parts of each word helps my brain process text without getting lost or jumbled every few lines. Still have to take breaks, but I can actually read for about 25 minutes now instead of giving up after a page or two. The interface is simple enough not to be distracting, which I appreciate. Would really love to see an audiobook feature added someday (already sent in a feature request) for those days when my eyes are too tired.

Forget Summaries - This App lets you actually read the Books!

Honestly, Magibook is better than Headway or Blinkist. I tried those apps for quick book summaries, but they always left me feeling like I was missing something. With Magibook, I actually get to read the full books, but it adapts to my reading level, so I don’t feel overwhelmed. Way more satisfying than just skimming a summary! I just got Magibook Unlimited, which gives me access to tons of books, looking forward to more! —also very nice for reading on my iPad. Seriously, if you're looking for more than just summaries and want to actually enjoy and understand what you’re reading, Magibook is the way to go!

A Must-Have App for Readers

I’m a teacher, and Magibook has been a game-changer for my students. Some of them find certain books tough to read, but with this app, they can adjust the language to fit their level. Just the other, we tackled Les Miserables, and everyone could keep up and enjoy it. Magibook has made reading fun and less intimidating for my class. I highly recommend it! Looking forwards to upcoming updates and more books!

as someone that read voraciously as a kid, digging into really meaty and complex books with a tired mind has never worked for me. being able to toggle away from typically dense and outdated readings to something more digestible has been a major gamechanger for me. use the app daily now!

This is an excellent reading tool, powered by AI. Choose the original text in all its glory, or chose various levels of simplification, to assist with comprehension and speedier reading. What an awesome concept! Ignore the haters, this is how books will be read in the future. This is an early release, so there is a lot of room for improvement. The potential is huge. Keep up the great work, and keep developing the app!

Now my wife can easily learn more English!

My wife is French and knows a good amount of English, but language learning apps just aren’t good enough past a certain point. This allows her to read books in English and learn though immersion while enjoying classic stories. I recommend to any one trying to improve there English comprehension!

Magibook est une app géniale. Mon fils de 4 ans et moi même l'utilisons au moment de sa sieste et il est fasciné par les histoires et comprend vraiment bien les livres, même ceux qui sont un peu complexes pour son âge. L’interface est super intuitive et épurée - ce qui rend notre temps de lecture spéciale et calmante. La variété des livres est top. Hi, first of all thanks for the free premium. I am grateful for this app, made a big change in life in a positive direction. One suggestions I would like to give is please add a search button to look for new titles also please do add Hindi books like Rabindranath Tagore books, I would love to read them on the go.

This app is awesome for helping english learners and students who struggle with reading. 2 things would make this app amazing. 1. A search function. There is no way to type a title you just have to scroll through. 2. Text to speech option, or able to use it on a computer to pair it with a text to speech reader. This would help accessibility for those seeing impaired, or who struggle with text.

Scope of improvisation

1. I would very much like to see the new additions to the likes of plato, Socrates, and the likes of political philosophies which are in the discourse. 2. I would appreciate if we could have the option of changing the size of text and maybe the font and colour including the zoom feature. 3. It would be engaging to have markers and text liners and a tool for saving the favourite part.

I never leave reviews, but this app intrigued me and has surpassed expectations. I am someone who struggles to read. Trying to comprehend what I’m reading is distracting, and I end up losing track and giving up. I haven’t read a book since I was in elementary school for this reason. It was always a struggle for me. I never even thought to attempt the classics…knowing how clever the wording was. This app has made it simple enough where I can pay attention and still be able to say I read the book. It gives me an opportunity I didn’t previously have. So many people are hating, but that’s because they don’t see the bigger picture. EVERYONE deserves a chance to read whatever book they like. And this app is the key to unlocking that possibility. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is a limited amount of options. Ideally I’d like to see thousands of books, not just classics. All genres, all age groups, big and small authors. This app has so much potential and I am excited to see it blow up. You should seriously go on shark tank and get some huge backing to make a software like never before. I’d invest in it.

Unlearn your ableism before getting this app

Seriously, SO MANY of the posts on social media and these two reviews are based on the premise that this app is “dumbing down” literature. First off, READ the text in the first preview image. For folks who claim to be so “educated”, it’s very evident that you’re viewing this app through a reactionary lens of moral outrage that’s really just ableism masquerading as some twisted sense of undeserved “superiority”. It is very evident that this isn’t for the average person who can read the classics and learned to analyze them, it is meant for people, including educators and the intellectually disabled. This is clear from the start. This is NOT about the “idiocracy” (God help you all who use the same exact movie reference to denigrate anything that you don’t like) this is about ACCESSIBILITY. Accessibility is literally what disabled people lack on a regular basis and those who are intellectually disabled deserve opportunities to learn. Given how new this service is, this is actually a necessary use case to accommodate intellectually disabled and neurodivergent people, as well as those who suffer from functional illiteracy. My main criticism of this app is in the AI implementation. But note that, at the moment that I’m writing this review, it is a free app and I’m hoping that the AI implementation can be a bit better as, currently, the syntax seems to be the main issue. There are times when subsequent sentences don’t really match in terms of context. I think that using more complex large language models for better and more appropriate diction could improve this and, given the cost and potential value, I would see this as a potentially valuable paid service. I would also suggest the author to collect expert opinions from literary scholars, disability advocates, and childhood education specialists who can confirm this app’s value. If such reviews already exist, I would suggest to the author that they add this information to their website and their App Store description.
