01Who we are

Flunio is built and published by Andrii Kolisnyk, an independent developer based in Ukraine. Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation I am the data controller for the information described on this page — the person who decides what is collected and why, and the person you hold accountable for it.

03How we use your information

• To personalise your learning experience based on your CEFR level and performance.
• To process your text and voice input through AI services, delivering grammar corrections and conversation responses.
• To track your learning progress and maintain streaks.
• To send daily word notifications, with your permission.
• To analyse usage patterns and improve the app.

04Your voice and your text, in detail

This is the part of Flunio that handles the most sensitive thing it touches, so it is worth being precise rather than reassuring.

Voice conversations use real-time AI to simulate natural English. What you say is transcribed and analysed so the tutor can reply and so you can be scored on fluency, grammar and vocabulary. Text you paste into the grammar checker is sent the same way. Both are processed by the Google Gemini API.

• Your content is sent to deliver the lesson and the correction, and for no other purpose.
• It is not permanently stored on our servers — the results come back to your device, and your learning history lives there.
• Google processes it under Google’s Privacy Policy, whose retention terms apply to that leg of the journey.
• iOS shows a recording indicator whenever the microphone is live, so you can always see when Flunio is listening.

Microphone access is requested the first time you start a conversation and can be withdrawn at any point in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Flunio’s grammar checking, flashcards and dictionary continue to work without it.

05Third-party services

Flunio uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API — processes text and voice data for AI-powered grammar checking, conversation and content generation. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store — handles subscription payments and account management. Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status and entitlements. Subject to RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

06Data storage and security

Your learning data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate external servers that store your personal learning content. Text submitted for grammar checking is transmitted to the Google Gemini API for processing and is not permanently stored by us.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and no service can promise otherwise.

07Data retention

Learning data stored on your device persists until you delete the app or clear its data. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed. Subscription data managed by Apple and RevenueCat is retained according to their respective policies.

08Children’s privacy

Flunio is rated 4+ and is available to users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is necessary to provide the service. The app does not display targeted advertising and does not share children’s data with third parties for advertising purposes.

09Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• request correction or deletion of your personal information;
• object to or restrict processing of your personal information;
• data portability.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at kolisnyk7@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10International data transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own through third-party services, such as the Google Gemini API. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

11Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
